
LUKOIL has been present in the Republic of Croatia since late 2007, when it registered a local subsidiary — LUKOIL Croatia d.d.o. as part of its international marketing network.
Among its most noteworthy projects in Croatia are the acquisition in 2008 of Evropa-Mil d.d.o.,
the purchase in 2010 of Crobenz d.d., the launch of deliveries of petroleum products produced at the ISAB refinery complex (Sicily) via the JANAF terminal in Omišalj, the construction of 15 new gas stations across the country, as well as deliveries to the Croatian Compulsory Oil Stocks Agency (HANDA) in 2010 and 2014.
The Company operates in the country through a retail network, which at the end of 2015 comprised 52 gas stations and two bulk plants. At the end of 2015, LUKOIL's share in the local motor fuels retail market was about 8 percent by sales volume.

LUKOIL acquired a hundred-percent stake in Croatian Evropa-Mil d.o.o.. along with nine operational gas stations and five sites for future gas stations, as well as a hundred-percent equity stake in Terminal Dunaev d.o.o., a bulk plant in the port of Vukovar with a tank battery capacity of 8 thousand cu.m.
An opening ceremony for LUKOIL’s first local facility — Radnička Cesta gas staton — was held in Zagreb. The ceremony was attended by PJSC LUKOIL’s Vice President V.Vorobiev, Croatian Deputy Economy Minister B.Horaček, Zagreb Mayor M. Bandić, Vice Mayor for Economy, Labor and Entrepreneurship L. Prezhigalo, Russia’s Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Croatia M. Konarovsky and Head of the Balkan Interregional Department V. Zlatev.
LUKOIL Croatia d.o.o. entered into a lease agreement with Croatia’s state-owned pipeline operator JANAF for the 10 thousand cu. m tank battery in the port of Omišalj, to supply diesel fuel from the ISAB refinery complex to the Croatian market.
LUKOIL acquires a hundred-percent stake in the joint-stock company Crobenz d.d., operating a network of 14 gas stations. Crobenz d.d. previously belonged to INA d.d., which sold it following a directive of the Croatian Competition Agency due to market concentration of the Hungarian oil and gas company MOL in the Republic of Croatia.
PJSC LUKOIL’s President Vagit Alekperov met with the country’s President Ivo Josipović, Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor, Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandić, and JANAF Board’s Chairman Ante Markov during the work visit to Croatia.
The Al Said mega-yacht was bunkered in the port of Dubrovnik. The yacht was made by Lürssen Yachts in 2007 and is now part of the Royal Fleet, a special division of the Omani Royal Navy. The Al Said mega-yacht was bunkered in the port of Dubrovnik in September 2015.
The former President of Croatia Stipe Mesić visited and held a working meeting in LUKOIL Croatia’s office in Zagreb.
A ceremony marking 20 years of establishment of the diplomatic relations between Russia and Croatia took place in Croatia with support from LUKOIL. Among the ceremony’s official guests were: Croatia’s President Ivo Josipović, former Primer Minister Stipe Mesić, Foreign Affairs Minister Vesna Pusić, Russia’s Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Croatia Robert Markaryan, the diplomatic corps, ambassadors of various other countries, as well as businessmen, cultural figures and members of general public.

LUKOIL provides regular financial support to the Letopis magazine, the only Russian-language periodical in Croatia. The magazine helps unite all Russian expatriates in Croatia in an organized manner and join efforts in protecting their rights. It is popular both in the Russian-speaking community and the Croatian civic circles.
The Company has provided financial support to the Julian Rachlin & Friends chamber music festival and the Libertas international film festival in Dubrovnik.
On October 1, 2011, upon LUKOIL's initiative and with its financial support, a concert of the Tchaikovsky Grand Symphony Orchestra directed by Vladimir Fedoseev was held in the Vatroslav Lisinski concert hall in Zagreb. The concert was attended by Zagreb's Mayor Milan Bandić, Croatian President's spokesperson Joško Klisović, EU Ambassador, Head of the EU Delegation in Croatia Paul Vandoren, Russia's Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Croatia Robert Markaryan, Kazakhstan's Minister and Councilor in Croatia Yerzhan Kazykhanov, as well as Croatian businessmen and cultural figures.
In the past several years, LUKOIL, jointly with Zagreb's Mayor, has been extending gifts and sports gear to children from Beslan on vacation at Red Cross retreats in Croatia.
LUKOIL provides assistance and financial support to the Peaceful Skies annual sailing regatta, a major European social and pedagogical project involving orphaned children and children from disadvantaged families from different countries, such as Slovenia, Croatia, Austria, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Macedonia.
LUKOIL provided financial support to a school in Vukovar so that it could purchase computers for its students. LUKOIL also supports the Fra Salvko Barbarić Foundation for talented students.
